Patrick met Desiree through a mutual friend, Garrett Haggarty. He and Desiree had instant chemistry and eventually got married. He was slightly older than Desiree, having finished college long before he met her, but that didn't stop them from having three children together. When Desiree became pregant with their forth child, she fell ill and died along with her unborn child. Patrick was devistated and spent a long time by himself raising his three kids.

 

After some time, Patrick fell in love with Jean - one of the younger Denim girls. Again, being much older than she was didn't stop them from eventually getting married. And, Patrick produced another child, Monica, who (due to Patrick's advanced age) was Jean's only offspring. Patrick turned old and grey before Monica was old enough to attend school. But, being retired, Patrick spent the last leg of his life giving a lot of attention to his youngest daughter.
