Daphne was the eldest born of twins to Patrick and Judy (the first set in a long line of children). Being twins, Daphne and Daisy have always had a very close relationship even though their personalities are very different. From a young age, Daphne developed a unique sense of style and has always had a bit of a rebel personality. When she met Anthony Bar for the first time at the local coffee shop on campus at Acedemie Le Tour, she knew immediately that she had found her kindred spirit. She actively sought his attention and was never shy about making her feelings known to him. They married right out of university and settled down in Urbandale, close to Daphne's family.

 

Daphne added her special touch to the house that she and Anthony bought, and they decided early on to convert the ground level into a hair salon and make their loft-style home in the upper level. However, after the death of Daphne's parents, she offered the space to her uncle who was feeling his age and didn't feel comfortable living alone. So the lower level of Daphne and Anthony's unique home was instead converted into an in-law suite where Brian could have his privacy but was never too far from assistance if needed. After Brian passed away, Daphne started her salon business slowly, converting Brian's apartment in sections over time. However, it wasn't until after her retirement that she really got her at-home business rolling.
