Businesses and Houses

The Denim Family Home:
The original Denim Family home started out significantly smaller than it has become. Patrick and Judy purchased it with the intent of starting a small family, but as their ambitions grew so did the house. It now has a grand front foyer with a piano, a billards table, and a double staircase that commands the view as guests enter the house. To the left of the staircase is the dining room (where many family members and their guests gathered for dinner parties), behind which is the large kitchen where many elaborate meals have been prepared. To the right of the staircase is the living area with many comfy blue sofas and a large television flanked by tall bookcases. A small bathroom sits between the living room and the kitchen. Upstairs, there are three large bedrooms with multiple beds for the growing family, a large nursary turned work-out room when the kids had all grown up, and two full bathrooms. There is also a two car garage where the family van is kept among other items being stored. The back yard and swimming pool are just behind the garage in the south-west corner of the property. There is also well-maintained landscaping throughout the property.

Sunset Valley's City Hall:
It is the most prominent building in Sunset Valley, and is pictured on several postcards and other such tourist-y merchandise sold throughout the city. It is also the workplace of every politician in town, including it's leader of the free world. Among the most popular government officials is Peter Denim (eldest brother and second born of ten children to Patrick and Judy Denim). This red brick building served as the very inspiration for Peter's career choice. And, even for those who have no interest in politics, City Hall acts (at the very least) as pleasant scenery to those living within its view, to those enjoying nature across the street at Central Park, or to those just passing by. City Hall is a symbol of community and togetherness, a beacon of hope to its citizens and also houses the city's clock tower, helping everyone to keep time and tolling every hour on the hour with its echoing chimes that can be heard even to the outter reaches of the city. It is also a popular gathering place for public speeches and the like.

Gardner's Groceries:
Gardner's Groceries is Urbandale's most popular grocery store, and is a family owned business founded by Henry Gardner. Henry started the business on his own, with just a few small displays of fresh produce, but over time hired a few employees and expanded his stock to include frozen goods, freshly baked cakes and pies (mostly home baked by his wife Paula), as well as magazines and plants. Marylena Hamilton was Henry's first employee and later became the store manager (having had the most experience and the longest term of employment among her peers). Gerald Whistler and Jill Wade complete the roster of what has become a close-knit and efficient team. After retiring, Henry passed on ownership of the store to his youngest daughter, Flora, who has been overseeing the still-growing business to this day and is as pleasant a boss as her father was before her.
